I am gearing up for a little adventure out west but last night’s sunset was a good reminder of something that’s easy to forget.

Sometimes there is beauty and adventure to be found in your own back yard. This was taken from the road at Lake Hope State Park, one of my favorite local hiking spots. Those lights in the distance are coming from the boathouse.

Vacation only lasts a week so it’s nice to know there are great things waiting when you come home.
