Old churches, cemeteries and barns are my favorite places to find on my journeys. I never tire of reading headstones in old cemeteries or of admiring stained glass in otherwise simple churches.
Just a block or two off Rt. 550 in Amesville, Ohio you’ll find this pretty little Presbyterian Church. I love every part of it – the steeple, those lights, the windows – it’s all lovely.

I love old churches and cemeteries too. I read once that the reason why churches have steeples was to keep out evil spirits.
I’ve heard that too! I love church steeples and marvel sometimes at how different they all are. Glad I’m not the only one who likes churches and cemeteries. Thanks for reading! 🙂
You may not be interested in the entire story but there’s a real interesting church steeple pictured in this post from last summer. https://makethejourneyfun.wordpress.com/2018/07/23/a-serendipitous-journey/
Great pictures. I love walking around old churches as well – especially during my lunch breaks.
Relaxing places, aren’t they?
Very much so – I’ve got a post in draft about the one up from the road from me… I really should finish it.
