A midweek hike is good for the body, mind and soul. My hike Wednesday night was about covering some miles but also about enjoying the details along the way. The sky was a stunning shade of blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds. A gentle breeze, reminiscent of an autumn day, rustled the leaves overhead while campfire smoke in the distance made me crave an evening of calm around a fire.
This bee balm was past its prime but still had interesting color and shape.
This bug was way bigger in life than in this picture. Incidentally, it seemed certain he would fight me when I stopped for a picture. He wasn’t cool with the camera….
This bird was hanging out amongst the wildfllowers and watched me intently as I browsed for bees and butterflies.
These fishermen were oblivious to my presence but were clearly enjoying the nice fall like day.
And this view. Look at that pretty blue sky. No filters needed.
What do you look for on your hikes?
Beautiful pictures.
Thank you!!
That looks like a wonderful place to take a hike – it always does the soul good to be out in nature and see the wildlife!
It was a nice break from reality. Nice enough I want to make midweek hiking a priority.
Always a good idea – we try to get as many in as possible.
That’s wonderful!! I’m aiming for twice a week right now.
Good plan – we try to get out every day even if it’s only a drive.
Yes! It’s so important to leave the house and breathe fresh air. When I was working from home I at least went out in the yard every day even if I wasn’t leaving home.
Brilliant idea!
