“Without rain, nothing grows. Learn to embrace the storms of your life.” – Unknown
I snapped this picture between rain showers at my parents’ house last night. It has rained a lot this week so everything is growing nicely – including the weeds and the grass which I consider a glorified weed. The American obsession with grass is beyond my comprehension but I digress.
The point is that things are becoming pretty.
And, as for us humans, the quote is true for us as well. Every day can’t be easy and fun. Into every life comes an occasional storm must come. We’ll come out stronger and better for it.
We made it to a Friday, friends. Let’s just get through it.
No rain here, but a bit of personal challenges cut our camping trip short anyway. Lovely lily! Some of my day lilies are blooming, but most have a ways to go yet.
I hate when life gets in the way. Hope everything is ok. Most of my flowers are either behind schedule or won’t bloom at all this year because I have been rearranging everything. That’s ok though because it will be twice as nice next year.
It’s hard to wait a year or more to see the results of garden work, but often worthwhile. My iris bed, put in two or three years ago is just coming into its own.
Agreed. I’m awfully impatient so the idea of waiting till next summer to see results is a terrible thought. I notice that the Black Eyed Susan plants that were so traumatized by the move seem to be snapping out of it. The hostas are doing better too. While the day lilies are blooming, the flowers are small and they look a little tired. I planted some lavender and morning glory seeds this morning and can’t wait to see the little seedlings show their faces in a a few weeks.
I find that plants grown from seed tend to thrive better than transplants. Enjoy what the summer brings you!
I’m sure you are right. My only worry is that my lavender seeds were supposed to be started indoors. Instead, I just sowed them directly into the ground and wished them well. Haha. Plants have to be strong to survive with me.
