Today I’m thankful for this soldiers’ memorial in the Gallipolis City Park. The memorial is well done and lit at night but they thankfully don’t decorate it as part of the holiday lights display. They do decorate the trees in the area, making this beautiful and almost surreal scene.
I’m grateful for the individuals who have served our nation so bravely and for the folks in Gallia County for remembering them. We are a better country because of the brave sacrifices made by the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces.
Sometimes I do wish we lived in a world without armed conflict, but know it’s unrealistic. Our military has a pretty good track record for doing the right things (not perfect). As an Army brat, I do have gratitude for the people who serve this country, putting themselves in harms way for the greater good. May it always be thus.
Agreed. I don’t understand the art or the motivation of warfare at all. However, I am grateful for all who serve our nation.
Let’s work on peace!
It starts with us.
