Saturday’s adventure was hampered by the clouds which moved in and settled over the area for much of the day.
I used the gloom to my advantage for some black and white photos at this old church.
It is no longer used and there’s a window broken out. White curtains flutter in the breeze.
This is how they protected the glass on most windows. I like it.
It has a well maintained cemetery and I recognized many names as I wandered through. Here’s another view.
You can see here that the sky was a bit moody – not great for happy adventures but nice for some dark photography!
How is it you recognized many names? Is your family buried here? Friends?
It’s a small community. Lol. Some graves date back to the nineteenth century but others are quite recent. Some were people I once knew. Others are just last names that are common in the area. My county population is about 13,000 in 411 square miles – we’ve all met. 🙂
YES,i Uould like to know the same how do you reconize these names this is my childhood church in my hometown , my sister was buried here in febuary,among alot others in family and friends ,in fact i know about all buried there.
I’m local too and it’s a very small community. I recognize a lot of last names and knew a few people buried here. I don’t have any family buried there that I know of but it’s a neat old church and well kept cemetery.
yes, it is i know the grounds keepers and lots of beauty around there it was booming as a kid .the keepers are amazing . i know jut about everone buried there you beleve all most all are relatives .
But i do not remember the church being closed ill check and see what happened . good hunting and enjoy !
There’s a noticeable sag in the church so I’m not sure if they closed because of a structural issue or because of a dwindling congregation. Small country churches are struggling to draw enough people to keep the lights on. It’s sad.
