Reflections

My last multi-day adventure was to Ohio’s Amish Country in December. It was sort of a bust. In fact, I’m so far behind in storytelling I can’t remember if any of those stories even made it here.

I haven’t really allowed myself to dream about this year’s adventures but am hoping to get in a fun weekend soon.

There’s nothing more invigorating than setting out early in the morning to explore the road less traveled. Some of my best adventures have been a few days in a place where I have just walked around, taking pictures, talking to people and seeing what’s what.

It has been too long since I had one of these trips and man, am I excited to get one in.

Will you go somewhere this year or will you be a tourist in your own back yard? Either way can be lots of fun! Tell me all about it!

  1. We have lots of adventures coming up this year – God willing. One of the perks of being retired. Even before being retired though, I loved any adventure – near or far. Why not see the things in your own backyard?

    • I’ll never understand people who think you have to go far to find fun. There is so much to do within just 90 minutes of my rural home- you only have to look.

Here’s to 2024 and wherever the road may lead us!

  2. Most of my adventures this year will probably be in my own backyard. 😊 My siblings and I go to town some weekends for lunch, and we always have a blast! You don’t need to go very far to have fun when you’re with your besties. 🥰

That’s a beautiful photo, by the way! Would you mind if I painted a picture of it?

  3. Did our first camping trip in Utah last week. We’ve booked a bike-and-barge trip from Paris to Bruges for the fall. Still have planning to do. I’m excited to have my niece come out from Ohio for the first time this August, before she starts college.

    • A. Utah is such a beautiful place. So different from home that I feel like I have almost left the planet.

      B. Paris!!! I wanna go!! That sounds like tons of fun.

Having your niece visit sounds exciting. Where is she going to school?

      • We’ll see how this whole trip comes together. We hate to be away from the dog too long. My niece is planning to go to Kent State.

      • Good school! I hope she likes it there.

Being away from our pets is stressful for us and for the pets. Hopefully you have someone trustyworthy and caring to look after him.
