Buick

Someone took their Buick Regal out to play over Labor Day weekend. I was at Presque Isle State Park when I noticed her on our way back to the car. It had been an eventful day and I was pretty worn out so stopping for a good picture wasn’t a priority. I thought my car friends would appreciate a look at her anyway.

It’s Tuesday, friends. Let’s keep going. Unless, of course, there’s a cool car to see. Then it’s fine to dawdle.

Street View

Who could walk past a classic Firebird without snapping a photo? Evidently not me. Ain’t she a beaut?

Imagine the road trips you could have in a car like this!

Around The Block

I drove around the block and sat in a parking lot till the light turned red so I could pull up next to this parking lot and snag a picture from the car while traffic was stopped.

That’s not weird or creepy at all, right?

Ha!

Friends, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get a picture of the awesome cool car.

Be weird, friends. Go around the block. Park and walk. Pay attention to your surroundings. Look up, down and all around. Be you. It’s a big, interesting, lovely world filled with cool things to see and you don’t want to miss the great stuff!

Alrighty, it’s Saturday! Go forth and be weird, friends!

Good Timing

Spotting vintage cars in the wild is one of my all time favorite pastimes. When it’s a classic Corvette exiting a double barreled covered bridge, it is a breathtaking experience.

This is what we call excellent timing.

I made this picture in Philippi, West Virginia while adventuring with friends last September. That bridge played an important role in the Civil War and is significant for its design as well. Click those links for the stories!

Chevy Bel Air Wagon

These photos are from a hiking expedition last fall. I encountered this 1964 Chevrolet Bel Air Station Wagon in the nature preserve parking lot and couldn’t resist grabbing some snapshots.

Isn’t she grand?

The profile!

The color!

She’s so wide she barely fits the parking space. This reminds me of the station wagon my parents had when I was a kid. The leather bench seat in the pre-seatbelt-law days of the eighties was a terrifying place to slide around.

I was dying to know who owns this car but will have to settle for simply knowing it exists out there in the world.

1953 Ford F-100

Is it odd to follow a classic vehicle into a store parking lot just to get a closer look?

If so, I don’t want to be normal.

The owner was in the store by the time I made it there but I paused a moment to appreciate his 1953 Ford F-100 in terrific shape. Spotting cool old vehicles out in the wild is a priceless gift.
