Oh Christmas Tree

He looks so innocent here.

Don’t believe it.

It’s all an act.

Every day is the same. He starts out sitting on a package. First he knocks down some ornaments to make room for his behind.

Then he burrows into the tree where he proceeds to attempt eating the artificial pine.

After I pull him out several times, he settles in under the tree where he bats at packages and stray ornaments while wrapping himself up in the tree skirt.

Then we repeat the process.

Every day.

It’s a good thing he’s cute.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree

I love to climb your branches.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree,

Someday I’ll knock down the angel.

Incidentally, the tree is in my home office but near the door where I can view it from the living room. I can close the door when away or don’t have time to watch my Christmas kitty.

  1. I saw a cartoon yesterday with a cat in front of a knocked-over Christmas tree and other feline destruction. The cat stood on hind legs with a phone extended on a stick: “Best selfie ever!”
