I have been filling most evenings recently with yard work. A few nights ago, this skink stopped by while I was mulching. He hung around for a long time, supervising my efforts.
Last night, this handsome fellow appeared while I was trying to clear a patch of poison ivy. I’m not sure if he’s a stray or if he belongs to a neighbor but he was chatty. I asked his name and he murmured a few short meows. When I suggested he should go home, he said something that sounded like no.

I can’t deal with any more strays right now so I went back to work and ignored him till he disappeared. But man, it was hard. If I ever win the lottery, I’m going to have all the cats I want and provide a home to anyone that needs it.

Meanwhile, I’ll just admire their pretty faces and be glad that they sometimes stop by to supervise me.
At least they don’t appear to be particularly bossy!
This is true! It was just funny how attentive they both were!
That is such an amazing story! It’s so sweet how the skink and the cat came to visit you while you were doing yard work. As a cat-lover, I can relate to your feelings and I’m sure it’s hard to ignore them. Thank you for sharing your story with us!
I love seeing all the little creatures while I’m outside! It is terribly hard to not scoop up every cat and pack them around with me. Haha. I’m hoping he has a happy home waiting for him.
What an adorable story! It’s so nice to know that these animals find you trustworthy and come to visit. It’s great that you want to help those in need if you ever win the lottery, that’s really nice of you. Thank you for sharing your story!
Thanks for stopping by with your kind words!
