Rest

A sinus issue that I have been fighting for over a week seems to have settled in to stay. It’s the dry kind that makes your sinus cavities hurt and that causes pain in the gums. The strain of it all causes fatigue.

Last night, after work, I did something out of character and went to bed. My to-do list can wait. Yesterday’s lunch dishes can wait too. Sometimes a gal just needs to rest.

When you don’t feel well, just rest and reset. Maybe today will be better.

  1. In my 20s I had to learn that I was allowed to go to the doctor. I kept getting these knock-down drag-out colds. Finally after the third or fourth one in the same winter I went to the doctor. “Oh my, that’s a mighty bad sinus infection.” Two days into the antibiotics I felt 1,000,000% better. I never hesitated to go to the doctor again.

    • I used to get four sinus infections a year- one at the change of every season. I learned to distinguish when I needed the antibiotic and when the answer was rest, fresh citrus, water and an OTC.

This time has been different. Where my infections usually come with a lot of pressure in specific places and gunk everywhere, this time is very dry. It’s dry, burning inflammation. The pressure is in my teeth and gums rather than my eyes. So everything I normally do is all wrong. But I switched to Claritin D this morning and already feel better. Fingers crossed!

I have a dr appointment for blood work Friday and can always request something then if necessary.
