Perfectly Normal

Working from home has presented some unique challenges. I’m actually more productive at my quiet house but I also can go for long periods of time without speaking to or seeing other humans.

I think I’m doing ok with this. My mental health seems strong. And then I realized last night that I’ve been naming all the little creatures at the bird feeder.

Meet Laverne….

…and Shirley…..

And yes, there’s a Lenny and Squiggy too but I don’t have pictures of those guys.

Then there are the chipmunks – Alvin, Simon and Theodore – that chase each other around the yard as well as a woodpecker that I can’t resist calling Woody.

Naming the wildlife…. that’s perfectly normal, right? Right???

  1. Great image of the red headed woodpecker! What were you using for camera/lens? I’ve gone retro. Picked up a very nice Pentax ME Super and several lenses. I’m craving a 300mm f4.0 and found one in Japan….now I have to find someone who needs a kidney or part of my liver in order to afford it!!

    • It’s shocking how expensive cameras are. Mine is nothing fancy. Just your entry level Canon Rebel with a 75-300mm lens. It suits my needs even though all my bird pictures are through a dirty window. Lol. Kitty paw prints on the inside and dirt outside. I have got to clean! But I’m glad you liked the picture! 🐾

      • Well, your Canon Rebel an zoom definitely get the job done. It’s what ever works and you are comfortable with. I’ve been corresponding with Jim Grey and admitted that I had way too much camera gear!! Going to take some of the Master Class courses and I’ve signed up with Scott Kelby (kelby.one) to take a few of his classes in hopes of getting re-energized in my photograply pursuits.

      • Ah, I really like Jim. His blog and solid and he seems like a nice guy.

Honestly, I would like to have a better camera but need to invest in some learning first. A great camera is useless in the hands of someone unskilled. One of these days!!
