Cloud At Twilight

Twilight was upon us and the western sky was crowded with enormous, fluffy clouds but this one was hanging out all alone. It was doing its own thing apart from the crowd.

I admired this cloud for its beauty and for its independent nature. No one was telling it what to do.

Silly, I know. But tell me something. If you aren’t admiring the clouds on a pretty fall evening, what are you doing with your life?

Have a great Thursday, friends. When in doubt, stop and look up!

After The Storm

A bad storm moved through my area last night and we flirted with the threat of tornadoes for a few hours. I had to run an errand in a neighboring town after work but managed to avoid driving in the torrential rains as they moved through.

I was in Aldi when phones across the store began buzzing with an emergency message warning everyone to take shelter in preparation for a tornado. Interestingly, every person in the store did the same thing- we read the message and continued shopping. I’m guessing Aldi isn’t the ideal place to ride out a catastrophic weather event but the alternative was my car so I gathered up my guacamole and berries and went about my business.

Luckily, the storms moved through without consequence and I made it home safe to see the golden light of late day from my parents driveway.

Here’s their flag in the wind.

The view from their house.

This unusual cloud developed a few minutes after I took the above picture. It was beautiful but sort of ominous in the way it appeared to glow like it was on fire.

Here’s the view from my ridge.

It was even more fabulous in person. I guess it’s true – the most beautiful skies come after a storm.

Farm View

There’s this farm I pass by somewhat frequently. It’s visible from the highway to Athens, always well tended and, for lack of a better word, quaint.

On a recent trip, the sky and light were nice and the farm caught my eye. I drove by but couldn’t get it out of my mind. My trusty camera was on the seat next to me so I turned around real quick and headed back.

Here’s another view.

Isn’t it pretty?

It’s always fun when you suddenly notice something you’ve passed by countless times without a second thought. In fact, this is the kind of thing I live for. Happy travels, friends.
