If you popped in here yesterday, you saw a black and white photo of a classic Chevrolet. My pal Jerry asked what color this beautiful car is and when I told him that it is black, his response was that I “yank chains nicely.”
Here’s a color depiction of the car.
When I took the photo that you saw yesterday as she was rolling down the road, I had no idea that we would cross paths again when I stopped by Ye Olde Mill for a milkshake.
They were hosting a car show that day. Since the show was just getting set up, I didn’t linger but did have the opportunity to chat with this car’s owner – an elderly lady who said you can either own a classic or you can have money but you can’t have both.
Nice lady, beautiful ’57 Chevy (even though she pointed out some work that still needs done) and a wonderful bit of serendipity on my adventure day!
I had pulled over to have a closer look at something when this beauty went cruising by. It would be a great picture if not for that darn satellite dish in the background.
This will sound idiotic but I always admire the way the door, brick and street signs work together here but I’ve never stopped for photos. Last night, this little Chevelle provided a good excuse!
It needs some work but it’s still a sweet looking ride and it made my day.
You always see the coolest stuff when you have no time to dawdle and no camera in the car. It’s Murphy’s Law and happens every time I’m on a work errand. I did stop a minute to grab a few camera photos from the car window, swearing that I will go back another day.
It’s not too far from home and it’s farm country so I might rustle up something else to photograph. Meanwhile, let’s not worry about photo composition and quality and smile at the fact these gems exist in the same place.
