Forlorn

It’s been gloomy a lot here lately but this scene is simply forlorn.

It was early Friday and rain had settled in for the day. The fog was trying to lift but these bare trees against that fog were just too much to resist. What I wouldn’t have given to have my camera in the seat next to me but had to settle for capturing this with my phone.

One of these days, snow will blanket the landscape and it won’t look so sad. For now, all we can do is seek beauty in unexpected places.

Happy Fathers Day

It’s a timeless image- a father and son fishing at the lake. If you’re a dad or a father figure to someone special – Happy Day.

The small picture

Saturday was a small picture kind of day. Mr. Wonderful and I hit the trails at our local state park and had a lovely time hiking and playing with our cameras.

We both have jobs that are so consumed by details that we sometimes forget to stop and enjoy the small things in life. So that’s what we did on Saturday. We took time to breathe the fresh Ohio air and we photographed little details along the way, things we ordinarily might have just walked past.

It was a delightful, relaxing day and perfect reminder to be grateful we live in the woods and so close to parks where we can enjoy the outdoors.
